<p style="text-align: justify;">Institucionalmente el tema se aborda por primera vez el 2008 constituyendo el Grupo Asesor en Salud de Inmigrantes y Refugiados del Ministerio de Salud (SIR), a partir de este trabajo se desarrolla una serie de acciones que se agrupan en la circular Nº 3229 y que fueron muy bien valoradas, otro importante fueron los estudios que generaron evidencia para lo que vendría después (DEMOSCÓPICA, Diagnóstico de Salud Mental de Población Inmigrante de la Zona Norte de la Región Metropolitana, Universidad de Chile). A partir del 2010 el tema se abandona en el MINSAL, pero se desarrollan de políticas locales de inmigrantes en Municipios (Quilicura, Recoleta, Santiago, entre otros), proceso de Sensibilización y otras acciones desarrollados por los Servicios de Salud que han sido un aporte y aprendizaje.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">En Septiembre del 2014 se constituyó en el MINSAL el Equipo Asesor Sectorial de Salud de Inmigrantes que cuenta con representantes de la Subsecretaria de Salud Pública, Subsecretaria de Redes Asistenciales, FONASA y la Superintendencia de Salud (14 representantes), a partir de este trabajo se hace una revisión de la normativa, se impulsa el Piloto de Salud de Inmigrantes , se prioriza el tema de información y se promueve la capacitación de los funcionarios de Salud en el fenómeno de las Migraciones.</p>
